Bishop Vernon graduated from the Jamaica Theological Seminary with a B. A. in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Honours) from the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology. Since then, he has served in various pastoral and administrative positions and was ordained as a Bishop in 1996.
During his 30 years in the ministry, Bishop Vernon served in several capacities in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Canada including in his current role as Lead Pastor of the West Toronto Church of God. In his extensive travel, he has conducted leadership training and conferences in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Cambodia, the United States, Ecuador, and a number of Caribbean Islands.
Among his many academic interests, Bishop Vernon pays special attention to the growing phenomenon of global migration and its implications for institutions such as the church.
